Bio

Ben-Wei Zhang is currently the director of the Science and Technology Department of Central China Normal University, the vice chairman of the Hubei Provincial Physical Society, and the executive director of the Chinese Nuclear Physics Society. From February 2005 to April 2006, he was a Humboldt Scholar at the University of Regensburg, Germany, a postdoctoral fellow at Texas A&M University from May 2006 to August 2007, a visiting scholar at the Department of Theory at Los Alamos National Laboratory from February 2008 to February 2010, and a senior visiting scholar at the Department of Nuclear Theory at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory from September 2012 to February 2013. His main research field is the theory of high-energy nuclear physics, and he has published more than 100 papers in internationally renowned physics journals and has been cited more than 4,000 times. He has won the first prize of the Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education (2018), the "Outstanding Youth" of the National Foundation of China (2013), the New Century Excellent Talent Program of the Ministry of Education (2009), the "First Youth Science and Technology Award" of Wuhan (2008), and the first prize of the Natural Science Award of Hubei Province (2006).
