Position Description:
There are several postdoctoral position openings in nuclear theory at Central China Center for Nuclear Theory (C3NT) and Institute of Particle Physics (IOPP) of Central China Normal University (CCNU), Wuhan, China. The research interests at C3NT and IOPP cover but are not restricted to (more information can be found in https://iopp.ccnu.edu.cn/en/):
-- AdS/CFT and its applications
-- Deep learning for nuclear physics
-- Effective field theory for nuclear structure
-- Hard Probes of Quark-Gluon Plasma
-- Hot and cold lattice QCD
-- Physics in electron-ion collisions
-- Relativistic Hydrodynamics
-- Spin polarization and chirality in nuclear collisions
-- Thermal Field Theory and Nuclear astrophysics
The current faculty members are: Heng-Tong Ding, Defu Hou, Chen Ji, Weiyao Ke, Long-Gang Pang, Guang-You Qin, Hai-Tao Shu, Xin-Nian Wang, Ben-Wei Zhang, Hanzhong Zhang, Wenbin Zhao.
Applicants should have or expect to receive a doctoral degree in physics before the start of the appointment. The starting date is the fall of 2026 and is negotiable. The appointment is initially for two years with a possible extension for a third-year contingent on the performance and funding. IOPP can sponsor long-term visits to institutes abroad with collaboration agreements ( e. g. UC Berkeley, McGill, Univ. Bielefeld, GSI, Univ Frankfurt) for exceptional candidates with three-year appointment depending on performance, project needs and funding.

Our university provides a competitive salary and subsidizes a fully furnished apartment for each postdoc. Competitive support and funding for research and travel will be provided as well. We will also sponsor applications for the National Postdoc Fellowship which will provide additional salary in addition to the regular pay.
