Abstract:

In high-energy heavy-ion collisions, energetic jets interact with the quark-gluon plasma and lose their energy as they propagate through the hot medium, leading to both jet quenching and medium response.

Measurement of jet quenching can be used to extract the jet transport coefficient, shedding light on the gluonic structure of the QGP at short distance scale. The evolution of the medium response excited by the energy-momentum deposition by jets, on the other hand, probes the transportproperties of the QGP at the long distance scale.

I will review recent progress in extracting jet transport coefficient from jet quenching data and new techniques for studying jet-induced medium response.
