Title: Effective field theory approach to       lepton number       violating kaon decay: short-distance contribution

中文题目:轻子数破坏的K介子衰变之有效场论研究短程贡献

 Abstract:

The nature of neutrinos remains mysterious. If they are Majorana particles, there should be other lepton number violating       effects besides their small mass. While the issue may be addressed at high energy colliders and in low energy precision experiments, the effective field theory approach offers a means to connect all experimental data at low and high energies to new physics underlying lepton number violation. In this talk, I'll take the example of lepton number violating kaon decay to illustrate how to accomplish this in the framework of effective field theory. I'll discuss several effective field theories defined by the electroweak scale and chiral symmetry breaking scale: how to build them correctly and how to link them all the way to new physics beyond the electroweak scale. I'll also emphasize that study of lepton number violating meson decays can provide information not  available in the popular nuclear neutrinoless double beta decays.
